The Universalist Unitarian Congregation of St. Johnsbury has a full time minister.
The Rev. Susan-Lynn Johns came to us from First Universalist Parish of Derby Line where she was ordained into the Unitarian Universalist ministry on January 10th, 2016. A native of South Carolina, Susan-Lynn holds M.A and M.F.A degrees in theatre and communications and attended the Memphis Theological Seminary. In 2013 she was named a Fellow of the Cohen Institute for the Holocaust and Genocide Studies. She is also an active member of the Interfaith Partners of St. Johnsbury.
Before moving to Vermont in 2002, Susan-Lynn taught theatre and communications at the college and university level for 25 years. She was active in several different denominations prior to discovering Unitarian Universalism. Of her faith journey, she says: “I am ever indebted to each of the religious traditions that helped to form me as a spiritual being on my long and enlightening expedition towards ministry. I feel that this Journey, which was so much more than that of a seeker unable to make up her mind, uniquely prepared me for ministry in the Unitarian Universalist Church.”
